Our logo was created by artist/designer Ramon Matheu in early 2013
The Clean Chesapeake Coalition logo is designed to reflect the Coalition’s core priorities, including clean water, submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) and oyster restoration, support for agriculture, and long-term estuary conservation
Oysters and SAV are central elements of the logo in recognition of their important ecological functions within the Chesapeake Bay. Both serve as key indicators of overall Bay health and contribute significantly to natural water filtration. These resources face ongoing challenges from sedimentation and other environmental stressors. Trees and agricultural imagery further represent essential components of the Bay’s ecosystem and underscore the connection between land-based activities and water quality. The logo’s color palette reflects a shared vision for a healthy and resilient Chesapeake Bay.
